The region’s state-supported P-16 Council for the Coastal Bend area has launched a new name and brand identity. The six-year-old organization will become Education 2 Employment Partners (E2E). To celebrate the occasion, the Council awarded five youth with $1000 college scholarships.

The P-16 Council has unveiled a new annual program called iDiscovery Safari, which focuses first on helping students develop a career dream, then places them on an educational pathway to achieve that dream. iDiscovery Safari is the P-16 Council’s latest strategy to get young people excited about high school graduation and more motivated to follow the path of a higher education.

The P-16 Council launched the first region-wide effort to mobilize area high school seniors who are unsure about a path to college or a career. The Ready For College and Career Conference (R4C2) brought together about 200 undecided seniors who have been registered from schools all over the Coastal Bend region to participate in hands-on education sessions designed to help them choose a path (on the spot) for their future.
