Emerging Professionals’ Internship Program


The Emerging Professionals’ Internship Program is a year long program designed for high school students with an interest in the following high demand careers:

Students register for the program in the spring semester of their junior year of high school, participate in a 6 week, 2 hours per day summer training for professional workplace essential skills development.  Students will also have an opportunity to complete a Del Mar course.  Students that successfully complete the summer training will interview for an internship for their senior year of high school.  If accepted, students will go to high school for a portion of the day and be released to go to work at their internship for three hours each day.

  • Accounting
    • Bookkeeper, Income Tax Preparer, Accounts Receivable/Payable Clerk, Accountant, Auditor
  • Business Management
    • Sales, Marketing, Warehouse Manager, Purchasing Coordinator, Inventory Control Manager, Analyst, Consultant
  • Hospitality Management
    • Hotel Manager, Chef, Baker, Event Coordinator

To be considered for the Emerging Professionals’ Internship Program a student must:

  • Have at least an average GPA
  • Be on track to graduate
  • Have good attendance
  • Have drive and ambition
  • Have a schedule that will allow for afternoon work during senior year
  • Have reliable transportation to worksite
  • Be able to pass a drug test
